How to file your Income Tax Return without taking the help of Experts

Step 1- Login to your portal via your Login ID and password(https://www.incometax.gov.in/)




Step 2- You will see File your return for the year ended on 31st March..... Just below that you will get File now click there.

Step 3- Select the assessment year, donot click any other thing apart from this just click continue after that

Step 4- Select mode of filing- Online and the Proceed

Step 5- Click on start new filing then click on individual and the continue

Step 6- Select ITR form- ITR 1- then click on proceed with ITR 1

Step 7- Click on Let's get started If you find any of the options suitable for you click on that or simply click others

Note- Those having form 16 their information will automatically get fetched those who don't have will have to fill manually


Step 8- Filing Section - If you are filing your return before due date then select 139(1)

Step 9- Bank Details- Add your Bank Details and pre-validate it

Step 10- If you are eligible for any kind of refund ensure you click on the Nominated for Refund

Step 11- If you have any kind of deductions make sure you click yes on that tab and have a valid expenses reciept

Step 12- Click on Total Tax Liability and confirm the amount

Step 13- Click on proceed then click on preview return

Step 14- Insert your name father name and ll other details and then click proceed

Step 15- When the portal will show Validation Successfulthen click on proceed to verification

Step 16- you will get three options first option is most suitable i.e. e-Verify Now

Note-For this option your Aadhar card should be linked to your mobile number
Finally after doing this your ITR filing will be done you will also get a confirmation mail on you registerd Email ID from there you can download your ITR File.
